Background/Expertise
Joanne has been in private client practice since 1987, and in sole practice owning Khandallah Law from 2002 to early 2024 when she incorporated her practice into Ford Sumner Lawyers.
Specialising in Family Law, Joanne has spent a lot of time assisting individuals and families with the hardest events in their lives. She has extensive experience in the Family Court and is an experienced litigator in that jurisdiction where relationship property disputes and childcare and guardianship disputes make up her work.
Joanne is appointed by the Family Court as lawyer for child from time to time and it’s this perspective that helps her keep abreast of the many aspects of child psychology.
Running a suburban practice has also meant that Joanne is very familiar with personal matters relating to conveyancing and elder law. Now part of the Ford Sumner Lawyers team, she is looking forward to supporting our lawyers in these areas while focusing on Family Law matters.
Outside of the office, Joanne enjoys yoga and meditation, and also gym training and hiking in the hills.
